Additional Arizona Renewal Rules

  • Pharmacists are exempt from Arizona’s continuing education requirements between initial licensure and their first renewal.
  • Continuing education must be completed during the two years immediately preceding the renewal application.
  • Hours earned during one renewal period cannot be carried forward into the next renewal period.
  • Pharmacists must retain continuing education records and certificates for five years.
  • A pharmacist who leads, instructs or lectures during an approved pharmacy-related continuing education activity may receive credit by following the same attendance requirements as other participants.
  • Arizona assigns each licensee to either an odd-year or even-year renewal group. Failure to renew by November 1 of the assigned year suspends the license.
